Today we’re sharing the extraordinary wedding celebration of a couple who embraced the DIY spirit to create a unique, memorable and budget-friendly wedding at Villa Veintiséis. In an effort to infuse their wedding with personal touches and maximize their time with loved ones, Bea & Carlos chose to reimagine traditional wedding elements and put their creativity to work. Every aspect of their wedding was thoughtfully tailored for their unique style, without breaking the bank. They pulled out all the stops to have their dream wedding on a budget, from DIY elements and giveaway wins to literally putting their bridal party to work.
Winter Weddings in Florida
We may not have white Christmas’ and snowy winters in Miami, but this December bride chose to embrace the season’s aesthetic with a twist. Subtle neutrals in a variety of textures were sprinkled with the occasional sparkle to make the winter spirit shine. In our opinion, this wedding was the perfect blend for a winter wedding in Miami. When we say every little detail was considered, we mean it! The couple infused personal touches throughout the venue for their budget-friendly wedding.
If you’re looking for some great DIY wedding ideas, consider some of these non-traditional elements:
- Phone recording guest book & card box with DIY signage
- Candy Bar in lieu of desserts, with personalized containers (plus, peep the heart tongs!)
- Handmade candles crafted by the bride herself (@theoff_whitehouse) for the wedding favors
- Instead of fresh flowers, the bride opted for dried florals (arrangements by Flowerwood Supply and LZG Decor)
Their stunning gold-foiled welcome sign was created by Monique Paper Art on Etsy. Otherwise, if there’s a sign, note, or sticker, the bride likely made it herself. She scoured for deals and created opportunities for personal messages as much as possible. These touches not only tied in the winter season, but they also brought out the couple’s character, which resonated with their guests.
A Tip from the Bride: Don’t shy away from buying items that are typically rented. She hunted down deals on vases, candles, and decor – and resold most of it after the wedding!
Wedding prep made easy with the help of some friends
This couple was able to save big in a few different and nontraditional ways. One of which involved putting their bridal party and family members to work. On the day-of the wedding, friends and family could be found setting up decor throughout the venue. Bridesmaids handled the florals, including the placement of all the roses at the ceremony site, as well as many of the dried floral arrangements. Everyone worked together to bring together the stunning vision – and they were treated to a stylish bridal brunch in return. After all, bridal prep isn’t complete without bottomless mimosas and a decadent charcuterie grazing table. Table Honey never disappoints!

Wedding giveaways For the win
Many think that winning Instagram giveaways is like spotting a unicorn. But the truth is – there are REAL winners to Instagram giveaways (have you ever entered one of ours, by the way?). On the hunt for deals, Bea entered many wedding-related giveaways and won a free lounge furniture rental from Mi Vintage in Miami – a perfect compliment to the aesthetic.
What Matters Most at a Wedding
Although this wedding was brilliantly put together by this couple, the most beautiful part was the couple’s love for each other and for their friends and family. Their priority was to celebrate with their loved ones. And it was a dream come true for one special guest in particular – the bride’s grandmother boarded an airplane for the first time ever to travel to Miami for the wedding. She was able to enjoy every aspect of the wedding, making unforgettable memories for their whole family.
In an effort to increase the time spent with their guests, the couple opted to cut out the seated dining portion of a traditional reception. Instead, they offered nontraditional finger foods as well as a brick-oven pizza truck for their guests to enjoy. Cutting out the traditional catering element gave them more time to dance, saved on their budget, and gave their guests a unique and memorable experience.
Carlos and Bea’s wedding truly embodied the spirit of love and togetherness, and celebrated the couple’s personality in every touch. We are honored to have been a part of their special day – one that none of their guests will ever forget!
